US specification MG B roadster, red body with black interior trim,
brought to France in 1991 by the previous owner. BMIHT certificate
indicates it was built at Abingdon plant in april 1973, original body
colour was Blaze (orange) while interior trim was Marine (blue).
New high compression lead-free 18V engine fitted in 2001
"Big Bore" stainless exhaust (complete with down pipe, tube and one single silencer),
new alternator, starter motor and clutch,
Every seal (door seals, window seals, hood and windscreen seals) has
been replaced just after we bought the car. All brightwork (front and
rear bumpers including overriders, front grille, side mouldings, front
headlamp rings, complete rear lights, door handles, rear mirrors and
side mouldings) was also changed with new items,
Painted wire wheels, tonneau cover (this is a must have item when
owning a british classic car, it allows to park without raising the
hood when leaving the car as it will protect the interior from moderate
rain and hide the interior to everyone, but most important : it
protects from burning sun),
Finally, we spent around 2,200 euros + 3,409 GB pounds for
spare parts and restoration bills, running and standard maintenance
costs not included.
Restoration tasks remaining : dashboard, seat covers and interior door trim, right rear wing lower part (rust).
